The first known instance of the Atlantic Finger Trap occured when Leanne went crabbing with her family. She was four years old. Ignoring the warnings from her parents and grandparents about the crabs sitting in a bucket on the sand, she reached in to pet one. Reacting to the finger trap's typically painful nature, she exclaimed, "Momeeeeeeeeeeee a cwab biting me!!"
